On Stage Interview with the Stars of ‘How 2 B A New Yorker’ [VIDEO]

Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle
I recently got to check out a matinee performance of the Off-Broadway comedy show “How 2 B A New Yorker,” and had the pleasure of interviewing the stars up on stage after the show.
Off the top, I must say I was surprised to discover that much of the crowd appeared to be from New York. It’s true.
While every crowd varies with people from all over, they told me, the good news is that it turns out this show isn’t just for New York wannabes like me!
“One thing that every single New Yorker loves is New York,” says Kevin James Doyle, co-star and co-creator of the show alongside Margaret Copeland. “That’s the only reason why you would live here, and put up with some of the difficulties it is to be here,” he says.
Margaret was born and raised a ‘native’ New Yorker, whearas Kevin moved to New York from Ohio. But according to Margaret, that doesn’t make him any less a New Yorker.
“Knowing Kevin,” she says, “I know that he’s just as [much] a New Yorker as I am.” So even more good news for us New Yorkers at heart.
If you’re looking for a fun Off-Broadway experience, or a crash course on NYC, or at the very least a filling Italian buffet near Times Square, be sure check out How 2 B A New Yorker!
The show is still on during the holidays, and for those of you coming to New York early in the new year, How 2 B A New Yorker recently announced the show has been extended to (at least) March 30th, 2013.
